Lars MikkelsenAt the age of 27 when he was 27, he began his studies at the National Theatre School of Denmark. He graduated in 1994. In addition to his role in the drama show telecast internationally as The Killing, he subsequently was a part of two other critically well-known Danish dramas, Those Who Kill and Borgen III.He also had a leading part in an episode of the BBC drama Sherlock as a blackmailer Charles Augustus Magnussen. In the American TV series House of Cards, his role was that of the President of Russia. He received an International Emmy Award for 2018 for his part in the Danish TV drama Herrens Veje. It was shown in the UK in 2019 under the name Ride Upon the Storm. Mikkelsen can speak fluent English, Swedish, German as well as Danish in addition to his mother tongue. He also has picked up many accents. Mikkelsen has stated that his brother and he were able to learn English first by listening to Monty Python recordings and watching comedy sketches.
